Write for us
We welcome pitches about how screen formats tell stories, especially ideas that help readers notice a specific choice, convention or possibility without needing specialist equipment or access.
What we are looking for
Pitch clear, original pieces about television, games, animation, online video or related screen forms. Useful subjects might compare how two formats handle a shared storytelling problem, explain a convention, explore a piece of media history, or offer a thoughtful viewing or playing prompt. A strong idea has a defined subject and a reason readers might see it differently afterwards.
Make the pitch specific
Tell us the working title, the central question, the main points you would cover and why the subject suits Lively Screen Stories. Mention any examples or sources you expect to use. We value a distinct angle, clear writing and a fair account of what an example does and does not demonstrate. Do not send confidential material or claim access you cannot substantiate.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a response before preparing a full piece. Do not include a complete article unless it has been requested.
The screen is part of the story
A story changes when you can pause, choose a path, follow it episode by episode or watch it unfold in drawn images. We look at those differences without treating one format as the natural winner.
